NIGERIANS, LISTEN TO KOGI STATE DEPUTY GOVERNOR, ELDER SIMON ACHUBA

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Achuba, Expose Governor Yahaya Bello's Deliberate Decision to Withhold Workers Salary despite huge allocations

“For your information, I have details for thirty eight months, till February this year. The total sum of money that have come to the coffers of Kogi state, that is statutory allocations, excess crude oil and VAT. It is N132billion. The estimated total revenue to the state, internally generated revenue is N51 billion. Money that came to the local governments, the total is N111billion. When you put all these together, that is N294billion.

“Now, from what government, we have put forward as the wage bill that we met, which is both state and local government, you have N5.8billion as salary. Now, this N5.8billion as salary, if you multiply it by the 38 months, what do you have? You will have N220billion as salary and you have N74billion as money left. That is if there was no screening at all. But with screening, they said they have saved N1.4billion and the total emolument for both state and local government workers has fallen to N4.4billion. So, if you multiply that by 38 months, that’s about February this year, that is N167billion. So, if we take this N167billion from N294billion, you still have N127billion.

“What I have said does not in any way include Paris Club refunds, it does not include the bailout. With statutory allocations, it was convenient for the government to pay, have the overhead to itself and do projects."

— Elder Simon Achuba, Kogi State Deputy Governor on Sunrise Daily, Channels TV.
