Bayelsa APC Distances Self From Allegation Of Bribing YPP To Fight Gov Diri ...Says It's Satisfied With S/Court Judgment, Has Moved On

Bayelsa State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has distanced itself from allegation of bribing the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to fight the state governor, Diri Duoye at the court over his mandate.

Recall it was reported on Friday that a prominent minister from Bayelsa State and his party were accused of bribing the YPP to fight the governor.

A group, under the aegis of Progressive Youth for Good Governance (PYGG), had alleged that the YPP was being bribed with the sum of N200 million to fight the governor at the court.

But the Bayelsa State chapter of APC has, however, debunked this development, saying they didn't bribe the YPP or any other group or persons for that matter to fight the governor.

An APC stakeholder from the state, Mr. Brown Friday, who spoke on the issue said that the party does not have such money to bribe anybody, adding that even if it has, there are other better things such money could be channeled to.

He added that APC is satisfied with the judgment of the Supreme Court and has moved on, adding that its governorship candidate, David Lyon has also moved on.

The APC stakeholder said that Governor Diri is not a stranger but from the state, adding that they will not destabilize the state for any selfish reason as the state belongs to all of them.

He said that the Minister the group was referring to is presently busy on how to ensure that federal government eradicates the COVID-19 pandemic from the country.

Mr. Friday said: "The issue of bribing the YPP is not true, we are not even considering it. We don't have such money to be wasted. All our Ministers are busy helping Mr. President on how to stop this COVID-19 pandemic and also how to revive the economy after the pandemic has ended."

The stakeholder, however, cautioned the YPP to carry its cross and not drag them into their problem, adding that the issue of its exclusion has nothing to do with APC or Diri and that it should go to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to sort out its issue.
