We Pledge Total Cooperation & Full Support for Progressive Governance - Ekiti Youth Affirms …as Governor Fayemi outlines the Government’s plans for youths
As the week-long celebration for the One Year in office commemorating Governor Kayode Fayemi2.0 led Ekiti State Government winds down, a youth symposium was organized to discuss enabling environment created for growth and self-actualization by the governor and his adorable wife, the First Lady, Her Excellency Erelu Bisi Fayemi.
Governor Kayode Fayemi, in the cause of discussion, outlined programmes and policies that will position Ekiti youths for capacity building, empowerment, employment, and values orientation.
The Governor acknowledges a few challenges facing youths in the state, saying that Pillar Two of his administration Agenda (Agriculture and Rural Development) which address youth empowerment and capacity building for Entrepreneurship; Pillar Four (Knowledge Economy) which provides quality education and innovations at all levels of academia for teeming youths amongst others.
Governor Fayemi also said assured the youths of inclusive governance while mentioning that the recently resuscitated Youth parliament at the Ekiti State House of Assembly is a clear indication that the state government takes youth matters as paramount.
Speaking further on empowerment programmes, the Governor highlighted that the Rural Access to Agric Market (RAM) Programme with support from World Bank will commence soon to connect all access routes in the state for easy transportation of farm produce and livestock for farmers to increase food supply. The Anchor Borrower Programme by CBN is also in progress to finance business ideas in the state.
He also noted that youths should be law-abiding to avoid being scrutinized by security agencies. He asked them to shun political violence, Gender-Based Violence to ensure a peaceful state.
At the closing stage of the event, the Governor inaugurated the Ekiti Youth Anti-Social Vices Club headed by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports.
