ODHA pledges support for quality education in the State


The Ondo State House Committee on Education, Science and Technology has affirmed its readiness to adopt developmental strategies that can help boost the performances of schools in the state.

The Chairman of the Committee, Hon Simeon Toluwani Borokini made this known during a visit of the Committee to the State Universal Basic Education Board(SUBEB), State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the State Scholarship Board in Akure.


The uneven distribution of teachers in primary and secondary schools across the state with urban schools being overstaffed with the rural schools being starved of qualified teachers was raised among other issues bothering the state's education sector by the Committee members.

Hon Borokini appreciated the collaborative efforts of the state government and the education ministry in bringing the desired face lift to the education sector in the state.

The Committee however sought for a more mutual and beneficial relationship between the Assembly and the boards of education in the state.
