PDP Launches Presidential Campaign In North West


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commenced its North West Presidential Zonal Rally in Sokoto, Sokoto State.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan; Senate President Bukola Saraki, Speaker House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara are among the dignitaries at the event.

The campaign is being moderated by the Senator representing Kogi west senatorial district, Dino Melaye, who was recently appointed as one of the heads of directorates for PDP Presidential Campaign Council.

Others at the event former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido; former governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Makarfi; former governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu; former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwanso.

National President of the party, Uche Secondus, Sokoto State governor Aminu Tambuwal, Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku were also at the event.

The party had earlier said that the rally will be used to touch base with leaders in the geopolitical zone on further consultations on the national consensus to ‘rescue’ Nigeria from Muhammadu Buhari Presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Director of Media and Publicity, PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Kola Ologbondiyan in the statement on Sunday said the campaign will focus on issues as well as address the concerns, plights, fears and aspirations of Nigerians in the geopolitical zone, in line with the policy document of its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
